Counselor Introduction
Our counseling sessions are led by Lena Imada, Founder and Executive Director of ICAJ.
Having lived in Canada for 26 years as a minority, Lena has firsthand experience with cultural adaptation, workplace struggles, separation and divorce, and raising two daughters. She has also served as president of a 100-member sports organization and as a student counselor at an ESL school, supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
To strengthen her skills, she completed the University of Toronto’s “Learn Interpersonal Psychotherapy” course (taught by Dr. Paula Ravitz, Professor of Psychiatry).
Her lived experience and training allow her to provide a safe, empathetic space for foreign residents in Japan to share their voices and find resilience.
